You said pretty much everything that’s on my mind and heart. The deepest pain personally was the realization that my beloved country has not been a champion of freedom and fairness in the world as I once believed. I’ve always ignored any criticism of our country as being simple envy, or propaganda by communist-type operators like Soros. To some extent it is, but after the total insanity of COVID 2 years ago I was forced to wake up. When I was challenged to see the damage that our foreign policy has done in the Middle East I resisted, since I had always simply “gone along” with whatever conservative policy was sold to me, whether NAFTA or the wars for “democracy” over there. Then when someone told me that our government was supporting and supplying ISIS and Al Qaida in Syria and that this has resulted in the nearly complete destruction of the Christian community there I was appalled. Now I grieve for my former ignorance but it’s an encouragement to read posts like yours and Mark Wauck’s. There may be little we can do except appeal to God but we must resolve never to be “good Germans”. Some day we will all give an account.
I just wish I could get a few people to join the conversation. They’ve even zeroed out my twitter followers. It’s just crazy. I really didn’t have that many to begin with. I guess that’s the price you pay for being white. Or is it for being Christian. Or not Catholic like Ol’ Joe. Or for not being a Brownshirt. What do you think my crime is?
